2022 vs. 2021 Honda Pilot Changes: Is there a Redesign?
There was not a complete Honda Pilot redesign in 2021. However, there are a few 2022 Honda Pilot changes to note. All models now come standard with an eight-inch touchscreen complete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Plus, the Pilot trims also include standard LED headlights.
2022 Honda Pilot: Will there be a Hybrid Offering?
At this time, Honda isn't offering a hybrid variant for the Honda Pilot. If there will be a 2022 Honda Pilot hybrid option, we will provide updated information later. With the Honda CR-V getting its first Hybrid offering in 2020, it's a good chance that Honda will start offering more hybrid availability of more of their SUVs.2022 Honda Pilot Elite
What makes the 2022 Honda Pilot Elite unique from other trim levels is the standard all-wheel-drive, ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, and heated second-row captain's chairs. The Honda Pilot Black Edition is the top-of-the-line option. It features all of the same equipment as the Elite but comes with some unique styling aspects. The Black Edition adds distinct, black-chrome accents on the front fascia, window surroundings, rear bumper, and 20-inch black alloy wheels. You will see exclusive Black Edition accents, leather-trimmed steering wheels and seats with red stitching, and red ambient lighting throughout the interior that accentuates the Black Edition's attitude.
2022 Honda Pilot Interior & Cargo Space
The 2022 Honda Pilot can seat up to eight occupants comfortably with the three
rows of seats. Behind the third row, there are 16.5 cubic feet of space, with 46.8
cubic feet behind the second row. With all of the back seats down, there are 83.9
cubic feet of storage room. Owners also get a power liftgate on the EX-L trim, while
the hands-free liftgate comes standard on the new Honda Pilot SE trim and higher.
Standard technology also includes Bluetooth, two USB ports, a seven-speaker sound
system, and a five-inch display.
2022 Honda Pilot Engines & Performance
As part of the recent Honda Pilot news, you will notice that all 2022 Honda Pilot SUVs come equipped with a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine. This pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel-drive. The 2022 Honda Pilot FWD gets 20 city/27 highway mpg, while the AWD SUV is rated at 19 city/26 highway mpg.
2022 Honda Pilot Exterior Appearance & Accessories
There aren't many exterior changes with the Honda Pilot design in 2022 as it continues as part of the 3rd generation introduced back in 2016. We saw a slight facelift in 2019, adding some new bumpers, standard LED headlights, and revised taillights. The 2020 model year added the first-ever Honda Pilot Black Edition trim with a unique exterior appearance apart from other trim levels. 2021 added a Special Edition trim that includes black roof rails previously standard only on Black Edition models. The 2022 Honda Pilot continues to measure 197″ L x 79″ W x 71″ H and comes with the same 18- or 20-inch wheels. Expect to see seven exterior color options: Steel Steel Sapphire Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Deep Scarlet Pearl, and Platinum White Pearl.2022 Honda Pilot Towing Capacity
