2022 Honda Civic Price & Trim Levels

While the pricing for the new 2022 Honda Civic has yet to be released, we can make some guesses based on the previous models.

  • LX: $22,000 (est.)
  • Sport: $23,000 (est.)
  • EX: $25,000 (est.)
  • EX-L: $26,000 (est.)
  • Touring: $29,000 (est.)

There will also be a 2022 Honda Civic Si and a 2022 Honda Civic Type R variant to choose from.

2022 Honda Civic Si

The new 2022 Honda Civic Si is meant to offer lots of performance and comes as either the coupe model or sedan. Both configurations include a 205-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a manual transmission, and a front-wheel-drive. The redesign includes revised front and rear bumpers, new 18-inch matte-black wheels, and standard LED headlights.

2022 Honda Civic Type R

Sadly, we've only seen the prototype of this high-performance Civic, so we are still wondering what the redesign will offer. However, we are fairly confident that this model will be more powerful than the outgoing generation and could include a more aggressive appearance overall.

2022 Honda Civic Engines & MPG Ratings

There's no definitive information about the upcoming Civic engine options. However, we are confident that the optional 1.5-liter turbo-four should carry over. It's not clear that the previously standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder will be included with the new models. While we don't have fuel economy ratings yet, we do know that the previous model was one of the most efficient compact cars, so we expect that to remain the same.

Will the New 2022 Honda Civic Have AWD?

At this time, Honda will not be releasing all-wheel-drive with the Civic models. It remains a strictly front-wheel-drive vehicle but doesn't disappoint. In the future, there is a possibility that the automaker will add AWD to the Civic lineup.

2022 Honda Civic Interior Design & Cargo Space

The 2022 Honda Civic interior has been streamlined with a new, cleaner design. The dashboard includes a full-width honeycomb-patterned mesh design, perfectly hiding the air vents. With a wider console, the interior looks less cluttered. Overall, passenger space is supposed to be relatively similar to previous models, including the cargo space as well. Prototype pictures show a nine-inch touchscreen display with the latest Honda infotainment system. We also expect the car to come with a wireless smartphone charging pad, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

2022 Honda Civic Exterior Colors & Dimensions

We don't have the dimensions on the 2022 Honda Civic yet but imagine it won't be too much different from the 2021 models. There's also been no word about exterior color options, but we expect a nice selection to suit any style.

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback

The 2022 Honda Civic hatchback body style will return for the new model year. This model has been part of the Civic cars since 2017 when it was reintroduced. So far, we have only seen leaked images of the hatchback model, with an aggressive body style and plenty of scoops. The biggest difference with the new hatchback is that it will be built in the United States, instead of its usual plant in the UK.

Will There Be a 2022 Honda Civic Coupe Model?

While everyone loves the next-generation Civic sedan, many enthusiasts are asking if there will be a Coupe. Sadly, Honda had discontinued the previous Coupe because of withering sales. The automaker doesn't have plans to bring it back for now but might reconsider in the future. For now, it's only the 2022 Honda Civic sedan or hatchback models to choose from.

2022 Honda Civic Redesign Changes: What's New Compared to 2021?

The brand-new Civic has been completely redesigned, including the body and the interior. Rumors suggest that it might even come with a new powertrain option that's more impressive. For now, we can only go off the patent images and spy photos to conclude what might occur. So far, we've seen a mild sheet metal design that looks more grown-up than previous versions. The new Civic also seems to include some exciting color options and distinctive lighting. While many people had hoped to see either a hybrid or coupe variant of the Civic, neither are coming this year. That doesn't mean the company has ruled out either option, just not for 2022.

2022 Honda Civic Reviews & Ratings

We don't have any safety ratings yet for the 2022 Honda Civic but do expect it to come jam-packed full of advanced safety features. Honda says it will include a long list of standard features, so we can expect to see automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control as a bare minimum.

Aside from the safety review, auto publications have a lot to say about the upcoming 2022 Honda Civic. Motor Trend was happy to announce, "If the 2022 Civic is as practical and fun to drive as the last-gen car, the new Honda should have no trouble maintaining its spot as one of the U.S.' best-selling cars." Additionally, Car & Driver stated that the new Civic includes "a more grown-up appearance, new features, and a refined cabin design." If things go the way we expect, this model will only go on to receive more rave reviews and win plenty of awards once it is released.
